Meeting in 1 Hour! Re: Bethany Lake Chevron: March 30th developer meeting

Neighbors Against Bethany Lake Gas Station

Hello Everyone-

REMINDER: In 1 hour, on March 30th 2022 @ 6pm, the developer meeting about a third design for the Chevron adjacent Bethany Lake will happen. Join the third design meeting via phone or Zoom.

I encourage you to read about the statement that I hope to read at this meeting when the developer asks for community feedback. I think it is a good re-introduction to the data and situation.

Thank You,

Brandon

Developer Re-design Meeting

Bob Barman, the developer proposing the Chevron adjacent Bethany Lake, is hosting a community meeting to discuss a third design for their gas station. The meeting is scheduled for March 30th 2022 at 6pm. Find all of their docs, Zoom link, and call-in numbers on our website below.

Also, I have drafted the statement I intend to read at the meeting on behalf of everyone working on our Neighbors Against Bethany Lake Gas Station campaign to stop this gas station and the Post Pump campaign to introduce gas station setbacks near parks and wetlands in Washington County.

  • Join about the third design meeting

  • Read about the statement

Share Your Spring Photos!

From the Rock Creek trail you can view all of the spring activity in the wetlands. So, lets celebrate the new season and the beauty of this unique community asset by sharing photos and stories of the area.

A recent memory for my family is that our 15 month old son saw his first duck in the wetlands a few weeks ago. And due to intensive picture book training made a few friendly quacks.

Gas Station Setback Land Use Campaign

We are making progress on our campaign to introduce setbacks. The most recent news is that Washington County Land Use Staff have replied that they received our letter that was signed by over 130 Washington County residents. And they intend to add our letter to the County’s Long Range Planning Staff report that will be discussed with Commissioner’s this summer.

The best way to assist the campaign is to keep raising awareness with fellow residents and Commissioners. See our getting involved page for details on letters to the editor and emailing Commissioner candidates in 2022. Or just forward this email to some neighbors and friends.

  • Read our letter to Washington County requesting gas station setbacks

  • Read the reply from Washington County about long range planning

  • Email me if you want to make a statement at a Board of Commissioners meeting

Thank You,

Brandon Philips

P.S. Here is a photo of our son enjoying a trip on Rock Creek trail this Spring. I hope y’all are having a great Spring too.
